Real Estate Nyu

Competitive schedule? Enough to get into NYU, Northwestern, or even an Ivy?
I want to know if my schedule for my Junior year in High School is competitive enough to get into an above average university, such as the University of Florida.
AP English Literature
AP American History
AP Human Geography
AP Biology
Marketing Management (3) Honors
Newspaper 3 Honors
Algebra 2 Regular
Is 4 APs enough? I’m not sure. o_O
I’m considering switching my Algebra 2 to Honors. The only thing is that I’m absolutely terrible at Math, but I excel at everything else.
I am the Vice President of Communications for my school’s DECA chapter, and am the Art Director for our school’s Newspaper. I am also working as a Marketing Rep/Personal Assistant for a Multimillion dollar Real Estate Agent. I think I can handle everything if it means getting into UF.
It sounds like you’ve got a lot going for you. I got into (and will be attending) NYU with only one AP class in my Junior year but four APs in my senior year. It looks good that you’ve got a job and that you’ve got a few leadership positions, and your schedule is definitely tough and well-rounded.
Schools like to see that you’re getting good grades in regular classes than bad grades in honors classes, so if you’ll do better in Algebra 2 regular than you will in honors, stick to regular.
I’m surprised that you’re in AP Human Geography. For a while I thought that I was the only one who had taken it.
You’ll start to realize soon that beyond looking good for admissions, the real point of taking APs is to get credit out of the way for college. In retrospect I wish I had taken an AP science because that would’ve exempted me from one of the two science requirements I have. AP American History, AP English Literature, and especially AP Human Geography (all APs that I took) will probably count for pure credit but will not exempt you from any classes at college (though every college is different and you still don’t know where you’re going to end up).
Good luck in the future! And instead of asking “Is 4 APs enough?” try asking “Can I get good grades in 4 AP classes and pass the AP exam?” That’s what colleges really care about (though less about the exam gradeāI got a 2 on the Music Theory exam and none of the colleges I applied to seemed to care).
